Research Laboratories- Molecular Biology

The Molecular biology unit in the department is actively involved in Molecular diagnoses and identification of zoonotic diseases pathogens. We use Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) based techniques for early detection of bacterial and viral in both animals, humans and food samples.

The Laboratory of Molecular Biology brings together scientists with a broad range of expertise in biological structure, protein function and molecular pharmacology. Most important techniques are Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), quantitative Real Time PCR, DNA, RNA and Plasmid DNA extraction, Gel electrophoresis, and Gel purification of samples for sequencing.
