PEST CONTROL PRODUCTS BOARD (PCPB) OFFICERS VISIT TO THE DEPT. OF PHPT

Pest Control Products Board (PCPB) officers visited the Department of PHPT in the month of March 2022. They had come for inspection of the Department which is accredited by PCPB to carry out Toxicological Studies on pest control products.  

 

 

One Year Postgraduate Diploma in One Health and Emergency Research Ethics (POHERE)

The goal of this programme is to provide learners with the opportunity to develop ethics decision-making skills in the ethical challenges that occur in One Health research and research during emergencies. It will give learners an opportunity to develop leadership and collaboration skills for ethical conduct of One Health and emergency research. They will gain confidence and skills in identifying, reflecting on and making decisions  for One Health and emergency research which can be applied in research, ethics review and regulatory contexts.

Two Years Master of Science in One Health and Emergency Research Ethics (MOHERE)

The goal of this programme is to provide learners or participants with the opportunity to appreciate the relevance of ethics throughout all phases of research involving humans, animals or the environment, to develop skills in formulation of ethical guidelines to inform policy and practice of One Health and emergency research, to appreciate the ethical challenges in One Health and emergency research, and to develop confidence and skills in ethical decision-making in One Health and emergency research, during its ethical review and in regulatory contexts.

MOHERE INAUGURAL WORKSHOP SPEAKER

Dónal O’Mathúna, BSc(Pharm), MA, PhD, is Associate Professor at The Ohio State University’s (OSU) College of Nursing and Associate Director for Research at the OSU Center for Bioethics (omathuna.6@osu.edu) in Columbus, Ohio, USA. His research addresses ethics during disasters and humanitarian crises, particularly research ethics.

MOHERE INAUGURAL WORKSHOP SPEAKER

Marion Wanjiku Mutugi, a professor of genetics graduated with a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in 1993. The dynamic scholar, trainer, manager who is widely published in her area of medical genetics and more recently bioethics has a personal motto; “What’s worth doing, is worth doing well”.  Her current focus is ethical application of research findings and advances in science for the promotion and protection of human rights.

MOHERE INAUGURAL WORKSHOP SPEAKER

Doris Schroeder, PhD, Professor of Moral Philosophy and Director, Centre for Professional Ethics, Preston,UK, and Professor in the School of Law at the University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus. Professor Schroeder has been collaborating with the University of Nairobi since 2006, in particular on the topics of benefit sharing and ‘ethics dumping’.
